What I spend time on

My days are split in two, deliberately. Part of it is helpdesk work: people, tickets, and the problems that are in front of someone right now. The rest is cloud engineering: infrastructure, deployment, networking, and the ordinary maintenance that keeps systems useful. They are different kinds of attention, and I do both better when I keep them apart.

At home I use a Proxmox cluster, Gitea, Docker, and a mix of local and cloud services, with Terraform and Ansible doing the setting up. Azure is the platform I am learning properly at the moment, on both sides of that split. I like tools that I can inspect, back up, and move when I need to.

Privacy and security are the thread through most of it. I would rather host a thing myself, understand what it talks to, and give away less by default, which is also why my phone lost most of its Google services.

I also play games, drink too much coffee, and have a soft spot for small sites that feel like a person made them.

It is deliberately not a portfolio or a content machine. Some pages will be rough, some will be old, and that is fine.
